About Me

Hi, I'm Marsel! I'm a first generation immigrant and self-motivated learner. I love trying new things.I love staying active in a wide variety of ways:
• Skiing
• Outdoor rock climbing (sport)
• Golf (still learning!)
• Scuba diving (PADI Open Water certified)
• Hiking the Colorado 14ers (18 down!)
• Running (current goal: sub-2hr half marathon)
I stay up-to-date on consumer tech and enjoy the following:
• 3D printing
• Photography
• Drone flight (FAA 107 certified for commercial drone flight)
In addition to this, below are links to some of my projects:

Climbing, running, snowshowing, and skiing - just some of my hobbies!

3D Printed Violin

I made this project as a gift. The CAD files were obtained from the Hovalin project, and everything was printed on my PowerSpec Ultra.Step 1: Printing all 7 pieces took 1-2 weeks. Printing with special woodfill filament required tuning printer settings until perfected. The largest part took over 25 hours to print. The neck printed warped, requiring some post-print adjustments.Step 2: Lots of sanding, using drywall putty to fill in gaps. Test-assembly of the additional items, such as the chin rest (printed) and the tuning knobs (purchased).Step 3: The body is coated in a dark wood stain. Chin rest is glued on, carbon fiber rod is inserted, strings installed and tuned.End result: a 3D-printed violin! While quieter than a traditional wood violin due to less resonance, it plays wonderfully.

Links to live Tableau dashboardsAs someone who loves data, I love using it to guide my own decision making! I've built a number of dashboards to help myself track my goals across various hobbies. Below are some links to some of my public dashboards on Tableau Public.

Python for ETLTo extract, transform, and load data for my various projects, I use Python. Below are some links to my code, hosted on Github.

Screenshots of past Tableau reportsIn past roles as a BI developer, I developed Business Intelligence reports and dashboards to inform decisions and summarize data to executives. Below are a few examples of this work, which focused on visualizing geographic data and sales pipelines.(Data has been replaced with placeholders and/or blurred to protect sensitive information. All reports/dashboards below were built using Tableau.)
